Visit Serbia: Belgrade, Novi Sad, Zlatibor, Niš...

Day 1. Belgrade

Arrival Belgrade. Transfer to the hotel. Free time to rest or explore Belgrade on your own. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2. Belgrade

After breakfast, a sightseeing tour of the city. The Serbian capital is one of the oldest towns in this part of Europe. The remains of its long and turbulent history still exist on a hill overlooking the mouth of two rivers, the Sava and Danube.
The tour includes the historic Kalemegdan Fortress surrounded by the most attractive city parks. Continue on to Nikola Tesla museum. We will make a stop at the Memorial Center of Josip Broz Tito, the leader of the former Yugoslavia. In late afternoon, 2 hour-sightseeing tour around Belgrade by boat.
Dinner in Skadarlija, the old Bohemian part of the town. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3. Novi Sad

After breakfast, departure to Novi Sad, the economic, political, and cultural capital of Vojvodina province. Novi Sad lies on a strategic location on a bend in the Danube and retains a Hungarian atmosphere from years of Habsburgs rule. Visit its bridges on the Danube and the busy but charming central city zone. Stop at the Petrovaradin baroque citadel and fortress with a great panoramic view of the city.
Lunch at Perko’s farm.
Continue to Monastery of Krusedol with its unique architecture that combines both Baroque and Byzantine.
Dinner at a national restaurant and overnight at a hotel in Belgrade.

Day 4. Topola

Morning departure to Mt. Avala and Oplenac in Topola. Visit the memorial of the Karadjordjevic dynasty and home of King Petar I. He was the leader of the first Serbian uprising against Turks in 1804 and the founder of the Karadjordjevic dynasty.
Lunch in a village household.
Continuation of trip to Mt. Zlatibor.
Dinner and overnight in “Terzića Avlije” village or Mećavnik.

Day 5. Zlatibor

After breakfast, morning departure to Mokra Gora for a ride on the „Sargan Eight“ and the steam train „Cira.“ Visit the town of „Mecavnik,“ home of the famous filmmaker, Emir Kusturica. Short visit to Bajina Basta Lake and Mt. Tara.
Lunch in a village household.
Drive through the Ovcar-Kablar Gorge, well known as the Serbian Holy Mountain with its 16 monasteries.
Dinner and overnight at hotel in Čačak.

Day 6. Čačak – Niš

Breakfast. Continuing the journey and visit monastery Žiča, which is a symbol of the Serbian people. Visit monastery Studenica, which is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites.
Continuing the journey and visit monastery Ljubostinja It was founded by Princess Milica and Prince Lazar Hrebeljanović in 1388, just before the Battle of Kosovo. The legends says that the monastery was built on a site where Princess Milica met Prince Lazar for the first time. Continuing the trip and visit monastery Lazarica, it was founded by prince Lazar in 1377. close to his court in Kruševac, and with Ravanica, Lazars mausoleum, it represents the beginning of Morava school, the last style of Serbian medieval architecture.
Arrival to Niš. Accommodation in the hotel. Dinner. Overnight.

Day 7. Skopje

After breakfast transfer to Skopje.
Accommodation at the hotel.  On the way you will have an orientation tour of the city. Overnight in Skopje.

Day 8. Skopje

Sightseeing tour of Skopje including the Memorial House of Mother Theresa (born in Skopje in 1910); the Mustapha Pasha Mosque (built in 1492); the Church of Holy Salvation, famous for its 19th century woodcarvings; the Fortress, and; the Old Bazaar, with its tiny shops, hamams (Turkish-style baths) and caravanserais showing aspects of life in Ottoman time. In the afternoon, you will drive to Nerezi to see St. Panteleon’s Monastery, famous for its frescoes from the 12th century. Overnight in Skopje.

Day 9. Ohrid

Morning sightseeing tour of Ohrid. Visit the City Wall, which is the biggest preserved fortification in the country; the Ancient Theater; the Church of St. Sophia (11th -14th C.), which houses one of the richest collections of 11th century frescoes in Europe; the Icon Gallery of Ohrid, rated among the best collections of icon art in the world, and; St. Clement’s University (now under reconstruction), which was an important cradle of education in Medieval Europe. Overnight in Ohrid.

Day 10. Ohrid – National Park Of Galichitsa – St. Naum

Trip to the Galichitsa National Park and along the Eastern coast of Lake Ohrid. Visit the 9th century St. Naum Monastery followed by a boat ride in the Springs by the Monastery. It is in this region that the Early Christian Orthodox Bishops created the Cyrillic alphabet in about 900 AD. Overnight in Ohrid.

Day 11. Ohrid – Bitola – Thessaloniki

Departure for Thessaloniki. Short stop in Bitola to see the ancient city of Heraclea Lyncenestis, founded by Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. On the way to Thessaloniki you will visit the ruins of Pella, the capital of the ancient kingdom of Macedonia. Overnight in Thessaloniki.

Day 12. Thessaloniki

Morning sightseeing tour of Thessaloniki visiting the Archaeological Museum; the White Tower, a defensive structure from the 15th century, and; the monumental Church of Saint Demetrios. Overnight in Thessaloniki.

Day 13. Departure

Transfer to Thessaloniki Airport. Departure.

End of tour.

Višegrad, Trebinje i Dubrovnik


Prvi dan : 13 April - Postavka autobusa u 23.30 h, a polazak u 00h .iz Beograda, Batajnice,Banovaca , Stare Pazove, Inđije . Nocna voznja preko Čačka I Užica do Višegrada.( 300km)

Drugi dan : 14 April - U jutarnjim satima po dolasku u Višegrad obilazak grada sa vodičem i starog mosta Mehmet Paše Sokolovića na Drini, poznatiji pod nazivom “Na drini Ćuprija“ kako ga je Nas nobelovac Ivo Andrić opisao u svom Romanu koji prikazuje čitav istorijat ovog kraja..Most je izgrađen na mestu gde je put povezivao Bosnu sa Carigradom. Nakon Priče o Turskim vladarima toga doba i njihovim zadužbinama, nastavak putovanja do Andrić Grada , obilazak trga Nikole Tesle, renesansno pozorište vizantijski dvor, karvansaraj, replika manastira Dečani, muzej Ive Andrića, Mogućnost ručka u retostoranu „Zlatna Moruna “ gde se mogu probati najukusnija jela domaće kihinje ili ipak predah u ćevabčinici “Kasaba „ koja je tradicionalno uredjena sa zidnim slikama davnih vremena ,gde ćete imati utisak da se nalazite u nekom prošlom vremenu, poseta suvenirnici Andrić Grada, slikanje. Nastavak putovanja do Trebinja -200 km . Treći dan :15 april - Doručak . Slobodno vreme u Trebinju za šetnju i kafu , ili FAKULTATIVNO MOGUCNOST ODLASKA DO DUBROVNIKA, boravak ceo dan u ovom prelepom gradu, šetnja po Stradunu, gradski trg Pojana Luža, Orlandov stub, luka, palata Sponza, Crkva Sv Vlaha, zvonik, Onofrijeva česma i još mnogo zanimljivih znamenitosti i priča . . Day 1  Belgrade/Smederevo fortress/Silver Lake/Golubac fortress/Kladovo

Departure towards Smederevo (47 km). Smederevo is the small city on Danube river with the largest existed plain fortress in Europe that spread over 11 ha. The fortress was build in 1429. The fall of Smederevo fortress in 1459. marked the end of Serbian Medieval State. Visit of the Castle of Smederevo. Coffee break in the city center.

Departure toward  Silver Lake resort (63 km). Silver Lake Resort is situated at 3 km from Veliko Gradište. Former side arm of the Danube river, the lake is 14 km long and rich with the fish and due to the proximity of Belgrade very popular among tourists and fisherman. The world largest carp, weighing 44 kg was fished out of this lake. Lunch at Silver Lake resort.

Departure toward Golubac. Arrival in Golubac, attractive little city, yachting center on Danube. Here one can admire the wonderful view of the Danube river that is 6 km wide. Visit of the Fortress of Golubac. The fortress is situated at the beginning of the National Park of DjĐerdap where the Danube enters the Djerdap Gorge. The medieval fortress, built in 1291. stands on an inaccessible rock on the right bank of the Danube.

From Golubac we continue the journey through the gorge of Danube. Four gorges (Golubac, Kazan, Sipin and Gospodjin Vir) with three basins dividing them make Djerdap the longest and oldest water breakthrough in Europe. This Gorge is considered a natural park with the longest geological history in Europe but also an open archeological museum. In the 2800 km of its length, the Danube is nowhere as deep and narrow as it is here: in Mali and Velikin Kazan the river is deep 105 m. Arrival in Kladovo. Accommodation in the „Danubius aquastar Hotel“ in Kladovo. Free time. Overnight.


Day 2   Kladovo /Lepenski Vir/Viminacium

Breakfast. Check out. Boat visit of the Kladovo’s most interesting archeological spots: remains of the Traian bridge and the Fetislam fortress. Visit of the Kladovo’s Archeological museum. Departure for Lepenski Vir archeological site (70 km).

Arrival in Lepenski Vir. Walking tour of the site. Coffee break. Lepenski Vir is one of the oldest urban settlement in Europe dating 7000 BC. The first inhabitants of Lepenski Vir did not live in caves but were familiar with complicated urbanism rules and construction systems and had an enviable mathematical knowledge. Beside that inhabitants of Lepenski Vir had a fascinating expressive fish-like head sculpture. Departure toward Golubac. Lunch at Silver Lake resort. 

Departure toward Viminacium (42 km). Once a great Roman town and a capital of Moesia Superior, Viminacium is today one of the biggest archeological sites in Serbia. Founded in I century AD as a camp for VII legia Claudia, Viminacium developed quickly due to the favorable geographical position. In Emperor’s Hadrian time it was declared town and in 239. it was given a status of Roman colony and a right to minting. Several memorial edifices as well as fresco painted tombs, water supply sistem and a huge necropolis were found in Viminacium. Viminacium is one of the rare provincial capital cities without a large settlement built on its remains unlike Sirmium, Singidunum or Thessalonica. Departure towards Belgrade (93 km). Arrival in Belgrade.
